Veronica Green (born 1984, Wellington, New Zealand) is a painter of Italian and Polish descent, currently living and working in Venice, Italy. Green is recognised for her mastery of phosphorescent paint and triple scene paintings under Ultraviolet light.
After graduating from Massey University, Wellington in 2005, Green began exhibiting extensively in both national and international art fairs, solo and group shows.
Through out her career Green has maintained a strong interest in themes such as the inner child, freedom and identity. Inspired by current events, symbolism, religion and political issues, Green uses these to create a humorous universal positive message.
Her practice is evolutionary and is not confined to a single art movement, but spread over many. Green incorporates a mixture of mediums that challenge the concept of what defines a layer, what defines a movement and the essence and presence of time and light within a painting.
Playing with collective imagination, familiar and comfortable, she takes us to nostalgic places where we have all been to, but that, as adults, we often forget to revisit.
